Silkroad Online is a fantasy MMORPG set in the background of Silk Road between China and Europe. Today, Joymax has unleashed an interview based on the latest update, Legend VII: Rise of the Thief-Hunter for Silkroad Online.
In the developer interview, players can learn about new features like new skills, conflict system, craft system, Fortress War and more. Also, Turkish players are welcomed to give advices and comments for the game. Check out the full interview.
1- At last! There is a new update for Silkroad Online. We were waiting this news for a long time. After we learn it, of course we want to dive into this game and we have some questions. I am wondering why do you want to erase Merchant class? What we know there will be no more Merchant class but NPC’s only. Isn’t it going to cause balance problems?
There would be no balance problem between jobs even with the update this time. Before Legend 7 update, the Trade and Triangular Conflict’ was 2: 1 (Trader & Hunter VS Thief). So, the conflict condition was not fair to Thief. But rewards to Thief were very good. While, Trader and Hunter could enjoy better condition in conflicting with Thief, though rewards should be shared. And it was the problem.
Trader and Hunter have not engaged in trade, and Thief could not play it role due to the lack of trade activities by Trade and Hunter. All in all, the contents of Trade and Triangular Conflict have been inactive in-game.
Against the backdrop, we have reorganized the system to encourage users to play ‘Trade’ system, and to vitalize Job Conflict system. For this, we have changed 2:1 conflict to 1:1 by deleting a job ‘Trader’ to allow both Hunter and Thief to serve time for ‘Trade’ .
Furthermore, to allow users save time spending on Trade, we have developed the Consignment Trading system. With this system, users can enjoy the advantage of Trade without direct trade activities. Consignment Trading would make trade faster under equal condition for both Hunter and Thief.
2- What about new exclusive skills? What are their differences? How does it affect the general game play?
Exclusive job skills are specialized on job activities which are different from the existing other skills. By using the exclusive job skills, users can save time required for trade activities and play job PVP with more excitement. For this reason, Exclusive skills do not influence on normal PVP and other activities save job related activities.
3- What can you tells us about new conflict system. Since there will be no merchants, what happens to rest of jobs? What is going to be change with Hunter vs. Thief conflict system?
The concept for ‘Trade and Triangular conflict system’ for Legend 7 is ‘equal condition’ and ‘constant conflict’.
A final goal for both Hunter and Thief is to obtain job item so that the conflict of both sides is inevitable. To make the conflict fair, we have focused on the balance of the two jobs as described above.
4- We were really expecting this brand new Craft System. Apparently soon we are able to use it! Please, give us some examples about this system. Is there any fancy items will be available? If there will, how strong they are going to be?
Until legend 6, socket stone has been an item for high level players only. But with the draft system update via Legend 7, low level players can also use it. In addition to that, items like Battering ram and Catapults designed for Fortress War can also be available under the crafting system. And user can also craft Job equipments with the materials obtained through job and trade activities. In particular, users can wear job equipment together with basic equipment. Once the items are combined with Alchemy and reinforcement, user can have further upgraded powerful character
5- About Fortress War; why did you crate these anti-castle machines? I mean Battering rams and Catapults, were they this much necessary to create? Besides, what do you thing about these machines working progress? Are they easy to control?
Before the Legend 7, the target at the Fortress war was castle only so that some users keep complaining about the simple game play of the Fortress War. We’ve come up with Battering ram and Catapults to make it more fun. In terms of balance, defenders are more advantageous in regards to balance. That’s why the idea of updating Battering ram and Catapults has come to recover the balance this time. With the update of Battering ram and Catapults, more dynamic Fortress war is expected as defensive would face more aggressive and offensive disposition
6- This question will be short but I hope we can get a large scale of answer. Could you please give us some information about “Saint Knight Avatar”? We are really wondering how premium is this class.
In Silkraod Online, Avatar is a costume for cool visual. For premium effect, user can wear Devil’s Spirit. We have a plan to raise the premium level of Devil’s Spirit. For Saint Knight Avatar, it is just for visual, not a Devil’ Spirit type. But users can expect better Devil’s Spirit next time.
7- And this is my last question; I am stuck on Rank system. As a player, how we going to increase our rank degree? And when we increase it, what kind of benefits will waiting for us?
You can raise your rank through PK on counterpart job. But you need to maintain a job condition. Points can be earned differently according to your counterpart’s level and you can level up when the accumulated points reach certain requirements for each level.
To prevent abusing game play, user can get points from up to three times of PK within an hour. And for more than 3 times of PK, user cannot earn points during an hour. With the rise of rank, user can get stat (power and intelligence), but it is not a big advantage. Rather than this, Rank is for ‘Honor’, and Rank is put on in front of job name like ‘Expert Bandit *Runy’.
