Since Apple’s iTunes App Store has made the iPhone the hottest gaming platforms, there appears to be more and more MMOs settling on the iPhone platform. Neither an arcade genre nor a racing game, Pocket Legends is one of the iPhone MMO titles with a huge hit by connecting multiplayer over wireless, 3G, or Edge networks.

Developed by Spacetime Studios, Pocket Legends is a revolutionary free-to-play MMO available for such mobile devices like iPhone and iPad, complete with 3D graphics which is fit for the mobile devices. Although Pocket Legends is an iPhone game, the game is definitely as good as the MMOs on the PC, including the character classes, monsters, battles, PvP and more.

When players download and sign up for the game, they can enter into the fantasy world and create their own character classes. At the moment, three character classes are available to choose: Archer, Warrior, and Enchantress. If players want an extra character slot, they have to buy it. Nevertheless, it is not necessary to buy the extra character.

As an iPhone game, of course, the control is very simple with swipes and taps. Players can control the avatar by tapping to move around, rotate the game world by spreading the fingers, add players into the friend list and chat with others through the chat box. The convenience can be mainly seen from the combat mode. All players need to do is to tap the attack button, and the game automatically lock onto the enemy and attack to defeat them. In case players don’t like the auto-attack function, it can be changed into manual operation.

Filled with thousands of players, the game pays more attention on team work rather than monotonous solo. Players can search for new friends to chat with as well as emote with special animations. If players want to start the adventure, they should enter into the dungeons hosting in progress. Pocket Legends focuses on a dungeon-centered PvE. Players can host a game themselves and select the available dungeon. Free version of Pocket Legends includes one dungeon of 13 levels. Without buying the additional level packs from the store, players won’t be able to go beyond. However, the level packs are still worth taking if players are interested in the game.

The adventure story is actually an action role-playing game set in the fantasy world named Alterra. When players are facing the evil enemies like zombies or skeletons, a standard MMORPG comes with skills, combos, health and mana recovery, team-oriented combats. Besides the items purchasing through the iTunes store, players can also use the in-game gold to purchase the equipments and potions in the store. Furthermore, players can have PvP fight 1-on-1 all the way up to 6-on-6, which is free in the first map and the rest map pack can be purchased for some Platinum.
