Review

Naruto is one of my favorite Japanese manga series, written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto with an intriguing ninja world. When I am reading the manga, I am always fascinated by the story of Naruto Uzumaki and his friends as well as opponents living in the mysterious ninja villages. If you share my interests in Naruto, here I introduce the world’s first anime based full-featured browser MMO called Little Ninja.

Game Introduction

Developed by DREAM² Technology, a Shanghai browser-based game developer and operator company, Little Ninja is a manga-themed arcade action MMO where you are able to play as a little ninja to constantly search for recognition and aspires. In order to protect the land, you confront and defeat the evil by using the supernatural Jutsu skills. In the meantime, it is your duty to investigate the evil schemes and find out the naked truth.

If you are a manga fan or you like web games or your computer system is not fit for those big games, Little Ninja is really recommended. In fact, the closed beta key for the highly-anticipated Little Ninja is very hard to obtain because of its popularity.

Characters

The characters in Little Ninja are mostly from Naruto and Bleach, showing the 3D cute anime-style avatars. If you are familiar with both two famous Japanese manga series, you are sure to know such avatars intimately like Naruto Uzumaki, Gaara, Ichigo Kurosaki, Orihime Inoue, and Ulquiorra. Furthermore, there appears to be more than a hundred manga characters for you to choose in the near future.

Little Ninja features a "one character, multiple-classes" system. Unlike the traditional MMORPGs, the special class system allows you to switch your character anytime in the game, from which you can enjoy all the character classes and their skills, especially the exclusive skills and hidden abilities.

In the beginning, you choose from five villages, the Land of Fire, Water, Wind, Lightning and Earth, which is the same as Naruto world, along with two neutral cities, Angel City and Demon City. Besides the delicate graphics, each land is closely related to its accompanying specialty and hidden skills. At the same time, the outfits, attribute as well as skills will convert to different types according to various equipments you find int the game. When facing competitive rivals or fierce monsters, you have to consider how to defeat them by switching to your stronger characters. Therefore, both characters and their equipments bring up different gameplay in quest of adventure.

Skills & Combats

The game is where would-be ninja start. As a typical ninja MMO, of course the skills feature the legendary abilities of superhero ninja powers. Little Ninja has a powerful combat skills system, with which award every character a wide assortment of class related skills for each level up. The Jutsu skill system is divided into ten categories with total fifty skill types, such as Ninjutsu (ninja techniques), Genjutsu (illusion techniques), Taijutsu (body techniques), Sealing Jutsu, Healing Jutsu, Doton (earth ability), Katon (fire ability), Raiton (lightning ability), Fuuton (wind ability), and Suiton (water ability).

By manipulating the form of chakra energy, a random combination of the attack skills and auxiliary abilities offers a surprising combat gameplay experience. In the combat, you are able to mix various battle modes with the abundant skills, either elementary or hidden ones. For example, counterattack, defense and attack, controlling and more. Finally, these skills make you achieve the great title of ninja master in Little Ninja.

PvP & Challenge

With highly-controlled conditions, the PvP combat is particularly impressive. The traditional web-based MMOs always utilize the text information to show the PvP result in the game. On the contrary, Little Ninja makes use of full-featured anime style, showcasing both animation effects for combat skills and intense turn-based PvP between players.

Sometimes, if you are using several kinds of auxiliary Jutsu in one round, the skill effects will stack with increasing buffs. If you are using the same Jutsu on your opponent in one battle for several times, there will give a chance that an attack will come with a critical hit or combos. Otherwise, Little Ninja offers you a chance to challenge the judge who is a proven ninja expertise in the Arena. Only those who have constancy of power can possibly win the contest, certainly with far more rewards.

Pet System

In the funny Ninja world full of adventure, how can you fight for your goal without a companion? A lovely pet is an important battle companion as well as a loyal friend bringing happiness in the game. The pet can grow up in the continuous combats, and then grasp many kinds of battle skills. You can send them to the pet house in the city, where they can thrive with the tender care from pet NPC.
