A new contest called “Name a Soul for Rift” is being held by Trion Worlds on the Rift: Planes of Telara forum. The game developers need the Rifts fans to submit their input for the unnamed soul.

Overview
Drawing on the vital energies of plants and nature, this mage finds a balance between life and death. Only [Soul]s can focus these life energies into a devastating force, or recycle destructive magic to heal their allies.Strengths
Their every destructive spell generates healing magic, so a [Soul] can survive situations that would kill most mages, and keep their allies alive even as they annihilate the enemy.Weaknesses
Invaluable allies though they are, [Souls] possess neither the destructive potential of their fellow mages, nor the restorative spells of most clerics, and their ability to heal is dependent on the damage they deal in combat. A [Soul] who cannot hurt her foes cannot effectively heal her allies.

Trion Worlds has also reveals a new zone named “Deepstrike Mines” in Rift: Planes of Telara, a sleeping and deadly place. The Deepstrike Mines is dominated by the dead, like walking corpses and frightening skeletons, ready to kill those who intrude the valuable source.
Now, undead miners exploit the wondrous Eth engineering. Unwilling to properly maintain the soaring Eth walkways, they move between the pillars on a rude catwalk. Anyone who falls off is immediately set upon by flesh-eating scarabs that can strip a living body in seconds, leaving only a skeleton to join the Court’s mindless horde.
