Filled with distinctive wild lives living in the rainforest, Amazon is always a mysterious and fascinating place. Despite of its charming, Amazon is dangerous especially when players happen to meet an unexpected air crash and lost in the huge wild jungle. Take it easy and don’t worry about the aviation accident. The air crash is happening in Gone Amazon, a survival game in the Amazon rainforest on Facebook.
However, the exact game developer appears to be ambiguous. Also, rumor has it that possible Ubisoft Game launched the new title, Gone Amazon on Facebook without conclusive evidence. Anyway, Gone Amazon has some interesting and unique features.
When I step into Gone Amazon in the beginning, I am really amused by the conversation centered on the emergency between two comic-styled pilots in the airplane. At first, there are only two scared survivors on the camp next to the airplane wreckage, who are hopeless and totally ignorant about the jungle life. At the moment, St. Anthony appears to teach the survival basics as a newbie guidance. With funny dialogues, players are easily following the game. In fact, the tutorial is just in the storytelling mode introduced to players with different episodes according to the current level. For example, when players are level 1, they learn the Episode 1: “A valuable lesson: to survive in the rainforest.” When they reach level 2, the episode starts with “A good start is half the work.”
Although the camp is tiny and vacant at the moment, players can develop the land with different resources, like banana sprout, rubber tree, clay pool and more. When St. Anthony introduces the jungle resources, the situational dialogs must
not be skipped due to not only the newbie guide but also the comedic conversation. The Neurotic (one of the two survivors) is surprising when he sees bananas turning into coins and falling to the earth after the work. Of course, such coins are essential to buy additional resources, resting facilities, beautiful decorations and camp expansion in a wild foreign jungle. Furthermore, collecting resources also brings the XP points to level up. By clicking the survivors, they are assigned to work with the respective objects. The harder the work, the more the earnings. Remember the words from the saint advocate: "Amazon it’s a coin heaven."
With the hard work for the fighting of survival, the survivors gradually become so tired and unhappy that they cannot complete their works any more. It appears that the survivors are able to be working in a twelve-hour cycle. While players are exploring the Amazon land, click the overworked survivors and send them to the facilities built to keep them alive and energetic. Indeed, efficiency depends on enough sleep. The longer the survivors rest, the more energy they will have.
In addition, players can buy various exotic decorations (even a tall carnivore plant) or expand the current space from the store to make the distant camp more attractive and homelike in the rainforest. When getting into the Build & Upgrade store, players are also allowed to upgrade the existing resources. The higher level the resources are, the more coins they produce. Look at the current mission if feeling purposeless in the
game. Players will be awarded coins and XP after completing the quests. Collecting pets is another new feature in Gone Amazon. To complete an animal picture, players need to find the animals by checking the ticking bush around, and then, take a photo of the animal. As a result, players are awarded coins, XP, and even the right to place the wild species on the camp.
As a social game, Gone Amazon is certain to have the basic interaction, like visiting the friends, assigning the role of survivors and more. Meanwhile, players can pick up keys when visiting others, used to open up the golden chest in which may have awesome prizes.
With the continual efforts, the camp will finally turn from a desolate place to a beautiful paradise. Well-designed cartoon graphics, constant reclamation works and relaxing music, all these make Game Amazon a addictive virtual space for players to seek and adventure. However, the game seems to be repetitive without so many new elements. It is still in the development phase of beta stage, and may have more contents in the near future.
