Creating buildings
In the beginning, your first goal is to build a town in such an empty field. You can establish a variety of buildings like Farms, Cottages, Taverns, Aacademies, Barracks and other buildings. All these buildings have their own functions which are the basis of a developing town. For example, Farms can continuously provide food which is needed to increase the Kingdom’s population and maintain the troops. Troops can be trained and settled in the Barracks. When the town is under construction, all the unfinished buildings are required certain time to be built. You can use some special items mainly used for shortening the construction time by different time to instantly finish the different buildings. Although the Kingdom starts out as a fledgling town, with patience, determination and strategy, it will become a powerful and prosperous Kingdom in the near future.
Gathering resources
Once you have started the game, you are only provided a small amount of resources, like food, wood, iron, stone and gold. As a matter of fact, these resources are the necessities for the advancement of a Kingdom. However, population is one of the most important resources in the game. A town is nothing without its inhabitants because they provide the necessary workforce to work on the resource fields, fill the coffers with gold through taxation, and protect the town when attacked by other enemy troops. You can build more cottages or upgrade existing ones to increase the maximum population. Furthermore, the level of Town Center plays a key role in increasing the maximum level of a cottage. The higher level the Town Center is, the more cottages and the higher level you can build in the town. So do the resource buildings.
If you want to survive in Verdonia, gathering resources is a very important way to support your Kingdom. Except gold, all the resources can be collected from the Resource Field outside of your town. Here, you can build farms, logging camps, quarries, or mines to collect corresponding main resources. If you are short of resources, it is very dangerous. Since your Kingdom is required a huge quantity of resources to advance in the game, make sure to keep the resources in sufficient storage.
Developing technologies
The technologies, such as Agriculture, Forestry, Stone Cutting, etc., are available for research to improve the resource production in the Academy. The higher level the Academy is, the more production you can obtain. If you are researching Agriculture for example, your food production increases without having to upgrade your farms. It actually costs less to do research than to do farm upgrade and can save more money as well. Each technology has ten research levels. Research is not only helpful for the buildings, but also for almost every aspect in the game, from resource production to combat efficiency. It is the key to keeping the cutting edge against other kingdoms. Make sure to keep upgrading the academy, and you’ll get access to the most beneficial way.
Building troops
Without troops, your Kingdom will be in danger and easily under attack by other Kingdoms. Troops are the mainstay of a Kingdom’s safety, because they guard your people from trespassers, protect your riches and resources, and even conquer new territories by force. Different troop units have their own advantages and disadvantages. For instant, Peasants will fight with whatever tools they can find, but they are not good fighters. Scouts will collect information based on the level of infomatics that has been studied. Billmen are ideal for killing the horses of cavalry and knights. Therefore, how to organize a strong and almighty troop is the question you need to consider.
To launch an attack, there are two choices. You can either start at the March Site in your town and then input the coordinates of the location, or you can go to the map and click the location and attack button. If you hire the Heroes from the Tavern, they will become the leaders of your troops. If your troops don’t have any Hero, your Kingdom cannot be expanded any more. However, it will take time for the troops to march from your town to the destination they are attacking. At the same time, they have to carry food to feed themselves for the march. When you are conquering the new territories, sometimes you will get weapons and armor pieces, which can be used to equip your Heroes. With the equipments, they will become more powerful. As your Heroes gain experience in the battle or serve as a Town’s Mayor, they will become more and more formidable along with your Kingdom.
Obtaining allies
The importance of allying strong allies with other players is needless to say. If you want to win fame and fortune or benefit from other parties, you can hire your friends as your unbreakable allies to grow in wealth and power in the game. Once your allies have been built, you are able to visit the Kingdom of your allies’ and help them obtain rewards. You can also ask your allies for help to speed up your construction time and research efforts, and vice versa. In fact, allies are your best companions who can not only help each other in the battle, but also exchange gifts of resources, items and troops. When you are preparing your Kingdom, don’t forget to get help from your allies. In Verdonia, you will be never developing and fighting in isolation.
