Just a few days ago, Playdom has released Pet Resort on Facebook. Now they have launched another Facebook game: Fanglies. Unlike Pet Resort for SIM style, Fanglies combines both SIM style and city building together into one game. Let’s start our journey into the world of Fanglies.
What are Fanglies? They are little vampires! It seems horrible, but actually Fanglies are very cute and active creatures with the appearance of cartoon vampire’s image.
You will start out with your own Fanglie, either male or female. If you don’t like the original image, you can customize its appearance and personality by clicking the icon of Wardrobe in the bottom toolbar. Pink and rose color, wide-eyed face, red sporty shirt, blond braided ponytail, oh, you will surely like the appearance of this little naive female Fanglie. Likewise, you will be able to customize its personality with three likes and three dislikes.
If you want to enlarge your population in your village, you can buy other Fanglies in the Mall. At first, you can only buy Mr. Coppercoal. As you level up and expand your village, you can add more Fanglies as well as other Fanglies will appear in your village. All the Fanglies you buy or earn have their own appearances and personalities which you cannot change.
You will have a short tutorial to introduce you to be familiar with your village. With the work of picking weeds, fishing from the water, cleaning the sand mound and etc., you will not only get extra things into your inventory, but also complete the collection items to turn in for reward of coins.
One of your main sources to earn more and more coins comes from making new items in your shops. For example, when you have built a Cheap’n Nice in your village, you can make a dinner chair which costs you 5 coins and sells for 25 coins from the shop. The bigger and more an item sells for, the longer it spends to build.
In addition, you can also decide to keep the decorative items you have made for both indoor and outdoor decoration rather than to spend a large amount of coins to buy them from the system shop. As you expand your village and den, you will have more space to keep more items in it. However, it is a pity that it seems no way to send the decorative items as gifts to your friends at the moment.
You may gradually find that your Fanglies have different actions when they are wandering in the village. Sometimes they look not very happy with their heads bent down, and sometimes they are very exciting with smiles on their face. How to keep your Fanglies happy all the time? In fact, each Fanglie has his or her own personal likes and dislikes. You can figure out the objects they like through the display of a thought bubble, as well as their interaction with each other by watching their performances. In the same way, they will also dislike each other if both of them are too different from their personalities. Try to keep those things your Fanglies like in the village so that your Fanglies will feel happy and playful. However, the feeling of your Fanglies actually doesn’t influence on your own experience, coins or energy.
Fanglies live and play in the village you have established for them. Maybe you want to keep your Fanglies happy, and then you choose all the buildings your Fanglies like in the village. Or maybe you try to build a social community for your Fanglies as a big family. Sometimes you are eager to furnish your den with luxury or exotic styles of decorations; sometimes you are so lazy to decorate your village that it just looks empty and simple. This is your world. It is all up to you to design your ideal village.
Energy is another point in Fanglies. Every action will cost different energy in the game, like the usage in Zynga’s FrontierVille and Treasure Isle. You can either wait for the refreshment or buy the food from the Mall. Moreover, it is possible to get the food from cleaning weeds. When you enter your den, the stove also allows you to cook food to gain energy. Don’t forget to eat your food in time according to their expiry date.
Friends is important in the social game. When visiting each other, you are able to help clean up your friends’ villages to earn a small sum of coins and experience. At the moment, you can do this many times a day which appears to be a bug. Friends are needed when you want to construct certain buildings or expand the village and den. Therefore, add more and more friends abroad you can get.
Fanglies makes you have the experience for both SIM game and city-building game. Try to build a lovely Vampire City for your Fanglies, and both of your Fanglies and you will feel happy in it.
